What more can I say about the ocean… this breathtaking World? How much closer can I get to perfection? The waves smashing against the rocks, the clouds painted in the sky, the palms growing out of ash… to know we are all a part of this is astounding. What a privilege it is for us to witness such beauty. What a travesty it is we are destroying such a wonderful gift.
Like a child who hasn’t, yet, grown old enough to have the foresight to change his behavior, we are living for this moment. But this moment is fleeting. Yet, what we create in this moment will have lasting affects. After we are no longer interested in the things we carelessly consume today, this weeping planet will have to carry the burden of our over-consumption.
But it isn’t too late to change. And change is happening. Keep spreading love and knowledge. Love will help others heal so they will be able to look beyond themselves and do great things for this world. Knowledge will direct them to what needs to be done. We mustn’t be so consumed with vanity and pride that we stop ourselves from being activists.
We must have those uncomfortable conversations that plant seeds in the minds of those around us that spark the changes they will go on to make. We must speak the truth. We must lead by example.
When my dad visited me last year I could tell by looking at him he had diabetes. I talked about veganism and tried to introduce him to new food. He didn’t eat any of the food I recommended. I was so frustrated but knew there was only so much I could do.
Yesterday he told me he wants to be at least 75% vegan. I had no idea the things I said and did even resonated with him! I thought he was a lost cause. Now, I am virtually speechless. My example actually inspired someone to change. What I’m doing is important.
And what you do is important. We are all leaders. Everything you do affects others. Use your powers for good.🙏
